Poster session spring 2006 was the Fourth poster session held at BIM&CS, Karachi on March 18th 2006 .On the whole 26 projects were displayed by the students out of which 13 projects were related to software and 13 were hardware related. Software projects were displayed in the main foyer whereas hardware projects were displayed in the basement of the university. This event provided an opportunity to the students to get into the industry.
The Chief Guest, Commodore Dr. Sarfraz Hussein SI (M) NUST, PNEC formally inaugurated the event. Subsequently he visited the projects and appreciated the students’ work.
More than 50 guests from the corporate sector including Mr. Vaqar A Khamisani, DE & ISV Manager (Microsoft), Wing CDR Khalid Mehmood, Head of Dept SE (PAF-KIET) and Junaid Feroze, Asst. Project Manager (LG) visited the poster session.
The TV channels that were present for the media coverage of this event were Dhoom, Aaj TV, Hum TV, TV ONE and TV2day whereas from the press media The News, Daily Times, and Aaj were reporting this event.
In the end closing ceremony was held in which the top 6 projects from both hardware and software were announced by the Head of Department Computer Sciences, Dr.Shakeel Khoja .The evaluation of the project was based on the decision of the judges from corporate sector.
